Let the ice cream soften slightly.
Work in the cinnamon, chili powder, and cayenne.
Freeze until solid, about 1 hour.
Beat the cream to soft peaks.
Divide the ice cream among bowls.
Pour the expresso or strong coffee over the ice cream.
Top with the whipped cream.
*For a warm-weather treat, float the spicy ice cream in iced coffee, cream soda, or a mixture of the two, or use a creamy Irish stout (chocolate stout or oatmeal stout if you can find it.)
